As a multi-ethnic Jew from an intermarried family, and a explorer of many faiths and rituals, she seeks to create and/or enhance an open and accepting Jewish spiritual space for ritual, contemplation, meditation and community. As a board member she supported the Alberta Shul's Organizational Development endeavors including getting our 501c3 status, collaborating on grant writing efforts and helped develop the Alberta Shul’s budget as our first Treasurer. In her spare time, she can be found dancing, listening to live music or her record collection, hiking and drinking wine in and around Lyle, WA, cooking delicious food, going to the Farmer’s market, hanging out with friends and overall trying to enjoy life.

Yehuda Winter
Yehuda was one of the first members of the Alberta Shul, and served a role as holder of institutional memory of Portland’s Jewish community as our Board Elder. Yehuda is also an active member of a Renewal Community, P’nai Or of Portland, since 1996. Yehuda came from a semi-observant family in the Conservative movement, but got discouraged about Judaism in his early twenties. Yehuda was drawn to Buddhism and was among those who started the San Francisco Zen Center and was the first student to live at Tassajara which became Zen Mtn. Center. Yehuda came back to Judaism in his 50's after a trip to Israel. Yehuda is a retired nurse and is active in the Compassionate Listening Project as a facilitator and does many activities to promote peace in the world. In particular, Yehuda has been active in supporting a Two State solution in Israel/Palestine. He is now in his elder years and is now prioritizing writing and leaving a legacy, continuing to grow a vegetable/fruit/ornamental garden, and deepening his relationships with his family and community.
